Parenting God’s Way

Parenting three children has been one of the greatest joys in my life. Having the opportunity to disciple them has changed me in ways I never imagined.

I am often asked, “How do you manage multiple children close in age?!” I always laugh when I’m asked that question because I have to tell them the truth.  And the truth is IT’S NOT ME THAT’S DOING THE MANAGING!

What people see is all God. I could not be a wife, mother, ministry leader, business owner, and now blogger if I were doing it on my own. I honestly believe that without God I was be drippling my lip in a corner somewhere! This is a daily journey of me choosing to walk with God. Asking Him to lead me and guide me every step of the way. Parenting three little people God’s way is not the easiest thing to do, but it can be done! They challenge me every day to want to be better and do better. They also encourage me by giving back what I give them, seemingly just at the right moment.

I remember a time I was encouraging my little lady (that’s what I call my daughter) by telling her she was more than capable to do her work. I told her that she can do ALL things through Christ Jesus who strengthens her.  I told her that I knew it was in God’s will for her to try her best, even if she was a bit scared to step out and do it. As I was speaking to her she asked, “Well mommy have you done something like this before?”. Immediately I was reminded of knowing God called me to write this blog to encourage moms who are on the journey of parenting. I had to tell her “YES! I have! I am nervous, but I have to do what God said, and try my best.” And that is why I’m writing to you today!

Whether your children are tiny tots, teenagers, or young adults, this blog is for you. As moms, we have to remember we were called to this vocation of motherhood! And handling that calling in the midst of balancing our callings in Christ, marriage, our home, career, church, friends, neighbors, the list can go on and on-it can be tough! God has the wisdom to give each of us. And His wisdom is the place where we find balance. We have to be intentional about asking for His guidance each and every day.  This blog will not just be about how I parent my children, but I believe God has giving me valuable lessons in the peaks and valleys as an Intentional Parent, that I know I am called to share.

Stay tuned for more posts! And remember… you were called by God to be a mom!!!!
